Andy Roddick is currently one of the best tennis players in the world. Born August 30, 1982, Roddick has been the top-ranked American player and a former World No. 1. At one point, he was the only American men’s tennis player in the top 10. Roddick became a Grand Slam singles champion at the 2003 US Open. Along with Roger Federer, Roddick is one of only two players to have been ranked in the top 10 at year-end from 2002-2009. Roddick and Federer are rivals, having competed against one another in a Wimbledon final three times and a US Open final once. Roddick is known for his racquet speed and power; he once held the record for fastest serve in professional tennis.
